Privacy notice.

Browser storage
Oilshock saves your browser watchlist and homepage preferences on your device. Export your watchlist to keep a backup. Clearing website storage removes these local copies.
Optional accounts
If you choose an account, Supabase processes your email address and sign-in session. Your optional username and account watchlist are stored in Oilshock’s Supabase project in the US West (Oregon) region. Your watchlist is private to your signed-in account. We use your email for account messages, delivered through Hostinger Email. Creating an account does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Your original browser watchlist is copied to your account only when you choose to copy it. Sign-in tokens and a cache of your account watchlist are stored in your browser. Sign out on shared devices; local pending changes must sync before sign-out.
Public discussions
When you post a comment or reply, its text, timestamp and your username at posting are public. Your email and watchlist remain private. Public story metadata and links are archived on Hostinger so discussions can outlast the news feed. Comments and private abuse reports are stored in Supabase. Reports include your account identity and are visible only to Oilshock administrators. Removing a comment clears its text and displayed username; a placeholder and private ownership/timing records may remain for replies and abuse prevention. Moderated content and reports may be retained privately for review. Other readers may have copied public content. Account deletion removes comments and reports associated with the account.
Other services
Hostinger serves the website and may process connection information in server logs. TradingView supplies quote and chart widgets. Those third-party services may process your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies.
Your account data
Use watchlist Export to download your list. To request access to or deletion of account data, email brent@oilshock.com from your account email. We may need to verify your identity. Account data is kept while your account is active until you request deletion; provider backups and security records may persist under their retention schedules.
